The Curate of Christ the King Catholic Parish in Kabale Municipality, Rev. Fr. Nelson Agaba has urged Arsenal supporters to celebrate responsibly following the club’s long-awaited Premier League triumph after a 22-year wait.

Delivering his remarks on Pentecost Sunday, Fr. Agaba, himself an Arsenal supporter, congratulated fellow fans on the historic achievement but cautioned against excessive celebrations that could lead to disorder or unfortunate incidents.

“Arsenal fans, today is your day after 22 years, and Fr. Agaba is inclusive,” he said humorously, while encouraging supporters to celebrate in moderation.

He urged fans not to allow excitement to cloud their judgment, saying celebrations should be conducted peacefully and responsibly.

“We know you are happy after 22 years. The Holy Spirit has been comforting you all these years, so don’t disappoint the Holy Spirit,” Fr. Agaba told congregants, encouraging them to also remind fellow supporters to remain disciplined during the celebrations.

“On New Year’s Day, when I was coming from Butobere, I found a boda boda rider riding on one tyre near the roundabout in Kabale town. That is risking life, and I do not expect Arsenal fans to behave like that today,” he cautioned.

Fr. Agaba further advised supporters to watch the match, celebrate peacefully, and return home safely, noting that prolonged celebrations could create opportunities for individuals with ill intentions to cause instability.

“You can watch the match and go home. Don’t remain there unnecessarily because some people may take advantage of the excitement to cause instability. Let us remain calm. I know the mood may be above 100 percent, but let us cool it down and celebrate normally,” he said.
