Kyambogo University is mourning the death of a 26-year-old student who was found dead in her hostel room in Banda, Kampala, on Monday.
The deceased, identified as Musimenta Precious, was pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance and was attached to North Hall.
According to a statement issued by the university’s Dean of Students’ office on Monday, Musimenta was found dead in her room at Sports Pro-Hostel in Banda.
Her body was taken to City Mortuary for further investigations, with the university saying a post-mortem examination will establish the cause of death.
“The body has been taken to City Mortuary for further investigations where a post-mortem report on the cause of her death will be provided,” the statement reads.
The Student Welfare Department said it was in contact with Musimenta’s family to make burial arrangements.
The university has not disclosed any further details surrounding her death.
Musimenta was registered under student number 26/U/AFD/06334/PD.
