RUBANDA – In a dedicated effort to uplift and empower women, Honorable Prossy Akampulira  Mbabazi, the Rubanda District Woman Member of Parliament, has launched the “Prosperous Women Rubanda” savings group to enhance the quality of life for women who have been struggling with limited savings and income-generating opportunities in the District.

With a substantial investment of approximately 700 Million, the project sets out to cultivate a skilled workforce within the marginalized female population. This will be accomplished through the implementation of various sustainable projects across 461 villages within Rubanda District.

The initiative operates under the inspiring motto of “Unity in the Villages,” spanning from Kabira to Kagunga, Ruhungu to Kibale, and Bugara to Muziku, among others. The enthusiastic launch took place at Kisiizi Primary School and Katiba Primary School in Bufundi Sub County, Rubanda West County, amidst a vibrant atmosphere filled with cheers and chants from numerous women’s groups.

With an optimism that the initiative will be immensely beneficial to women, the program offers an attractive 2% interest rate, which stands as a solution to the high interest rates charged by other saving groups in the district.
