RUKUNGIRI – Police in Rukungiri District are actively pursuing unidentified assailants responsible for the murder of a 53-year-old woman, Bainenama Olivia in Buyanjja Sub County.
The victim, a Muhororo tribe member and resident of Nyarurambi cell, Kasheshe parish, Buyanja sub-county, was found lifeless in her kitchen on Monday around 6:00 PM.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson, reports that the crime scene was thoroughly investigated by the D/SOCO, homicide staff, CIO, and CLO.
Maate said that relevant witnesses provided statements, a panga was recovered as evidence, and the victim’s body was transported to Rwakabengo Health Center III mortuary for a pending postmortem examination.
