KISORO – On Thursday, Chaos erupted during the Kisoro District Council meeting when Councilor Diana Nakato, representing Nyakinama sub-county, referred to Kisoro District Lc5 Chairperson Abel Bizimana as a disgrace.
The turmoil began when Nakato was given an opportunity to respond to the recommendations of the Health, Education, and Social Services Committee. During her statement, Nakato accused Bizimana of obstructing the efforts of Save the Children, a non-governmental organization operating in the district.
She asserted that Bizimana’s behavior reflects poorly on both the organization and the entire district, branding him a disgrace. Bizimana, in response, protested the comments, deeming them demeaning and embarrassing. The exchange led to chaos within the council.

In the midst of the turmoil, Kisoro District Speaker Amos Hakizimana criticized Nakato for her disparaging remarks. He urged councilors to maintain respect for their leaders despite any disagreements.
