He highlighted that the campaign signifies kindness, love, and appreciation, emphasizing the institution’s dedication not only to profit-making but also to enhancing the financial stability of its weaker clients.
According to Rev. Ivan Muhoozi, “It’s very important to appreciate the vulnerable members, mostly the aged people, those living with disabilities, and the sick for their commitment in serving with Rukiga SACCO. Our institution doesn’t look at only making profits but moves an extra mile so that our clients are financially stable.”
General Manager Ms. Medius Kabajurizi of Rukiga SACCO Ltd affirmed that their annual culture of giving back to communities is a demonstration of appreciation to their clients and a means of supporting local communities.
This year, the focus was on the most vulnerable, including the sick, aged, and disabled, who might face challenges during the festive season.
“We have been conducting this campaign from the previous years in a way of giving back to the communities to our clients. We were selective at choosing those to benefit from the campaign as at times some people struggle to pass through the festive season lacking commodities,” stated GM Ms. Medius Kabajurizi.
Individuals who benefited from the initiative expressed their gratitude. Grace Karushenyi, 74, a resident of Kinyamazi cell, Kibanda Parish in Kamwezi Sub County, acknowledged the SACCO for its consistent support, especially during the festive season.
Kigambire Ronald, also known as Buchman, a PWD from Rubanda Town council, shared how the SACCO had played a crucial role in supporting his family and his shoe-making business.
Other beneficiaries, including Mubangizi Peter, 62, from Kamwezi Sub county, and Rwantangare Fred, 84, from Ntungamo district, highlighted the SACCO’s pivotal role in helping them overcome various financial challenges.
With its headquarters in Muhanga Town Council, Rukiga SACCO operates branches in Kamwezi, Rwamucucu, Kashambya, Nyaruziba, Kisiizi, Rukungiri, Rubanda, and Kabale.
