RUBANDA – At least four individuals cheated death following a grave accident in Muko Sub-county, Rubanda West County, Rubanda District.
The identified victims include Sauna Joseph (19), Nicholas Ssendibwa (29), Ssemakura Fredrick (22), all residents of Kyotera, and Mugabo (27), a resident of Rubare in Ntungamo District.
The incident occurred yesterday around 02:22 PM at Rwabinyindo in Muko Sub County, involving a motor vehicle with registration number UBA 144l Fusso Fighter, driven by Nicholas Ssendibwa.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson, confirmed the accident, attributing it to the driver’s failure to negotiate a corner, resulting in the vehicle plunging into a trench.
Maate reported that three victims were promptly transported to Muko Health Center IV, while the fourth was rushed to Kabale Hospital, suspected to be the owner of the vehicle.
The scene was managed, a rough sketch plan was created, and the motor vehicle was towed and parked at the police station pending inspection.
