RUKUNGIRI – Police in Rukungiri District are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of 56-year-old Beatrice Kenyonyozi, a resident of Nyakatunguru cell, Bugongi Parish in Kanungu district.

According to a statement from the police, last October, the deceased moved to Kafunjo cell and began cohabiting with Matsiko Richard. Later, this month, she, along with Matsiko, rented a room from Muhumuza Emmanuel in Kafunjo Trading Centre.

Beatrice occupied the rented room, with Matsiko frequently visiting. However, on January 6, 2024, at approximately 2:00 PM, she handed over the keys to the landlord and left for an unknown destination.

Regrettably, last Sunday at around 6:00 PM, hunters discovered her lifeless body in a sorghum garden. They promptly informed the area chairperson, Kafunjo Denis Kyohangyirwe, who reported the incident to Buyanja Police.
