RUBANDA – Authorities in Rubanda District have launched the disbursement of 57 Million shillings to 16 beneficiary groups as part of the Special Grant for Persons with Disabilities.

This grant, established in the 2009/10 financial year by the Ministry of Gender, Labor, and Social Development, aims to support income-generating activities, employment, and elevate the economic status of individuals with disabilities.

During the official disbursement at Rubanda District Rukiiko hall on Thursday, LCV Chairman Ampeire Steven Kasyaba urged recipients to adhere to their submitted work plans and seek guidance from extension workers. He emphasized the grant’s ongoing impact and expressed gratitude to Minister Henry Musasizi for consistent support in securing funds for Rubanda’s development.

Kasyaba stressed community vigilance, especially during periods of increased safety concerns, while also commending ongoing efforts to lobby funds annually for the betterment of those with disabilities.
