KABALE – Police in Kabale District are actively hunting for a motor vehicle involved in a fatal incident that claimed the life of 49-year-old Charity Musimenta.
The victim, a resident of Nyamukana village in Bugarama parish, Kabale district, met her untimely demise on 06/11/2023 at approximately 10:30 AM.
The tragic accident unfolded at Nyakyigugwe trading center in Kaharo Sub County, situated along the Kabale-Mbarara highway. Elly Maate, the spokesperson for the Kigezi region police, reported that the deceased was struck and killed instantly by an unidentified speeding vehicle. The vehicle in question was headed towards Kabale Town and struck Musimenta as she was crossing the road to reach her home at Nyakigugwe trading center.
Maate further explained that the scene of the accident was promptly visited by Asp Mucunguzi, the officer in charge of traffic in Kabale, who was assisted by PC Uwimana.
Following the necessary procedures, the body of the deceased was transported to Kabale Referral Hospital for a postmortem examination. The authorities are actively pursuing leads to identify and apprehend the responsible party in this tragic incident.
