Police in Kabale District are searching for the driver of a blue Isuzu Elf truck, registration number UBA 861Z, who is on the run after knocking and seriously injuring three people along the Kabale–Kisoro Road.

The accident occurred on Sunday at around 6:00 pm at Burambira, near an NPR police camera along the Kabale–Kisoro highway. The Isuzu Elf, driven by an unknown driver who later fled the scene, was involved in a collision with a red Bajaj Boxer motorcycle, registration number UFB 597R.

Police say the three victims, the motorcycle rider and two passengers, a male and a female adult, sustained critical injuries and were rushed to Rugarama Hospital, where they remain in critical condition. Their identities have not yet been established.

According to preliminary police findings, the Isuzu Elf was traveling from the Rubanda side towards Kabale when, upon reaching Burambira, the driver allegedly overtook another vehicle at high speed and collided head-on with the oncoming motorcycle from Kabale before speeding off.
