KABALE- Police in Kabale district are hunting unknown driver of motor vehicle registration number UAG 774L corolla G.Touring blue in color who allegedly knocked a 60 year old man dead in Katuna town council.
According to Elly Maate, the Kigezi region police spokesperson, the unknown driver who is currently on the run yesterday knocked dead Tabaro Baziriyo a resident of Rwanyene, Katuna Town council in Kabale district.
Maate says that the fatal road accident occurred at about 12:50 PM at Kakoma-Katuna town council along Katuna-Rubaya road.
It’s alleged that the driver who is on run, while was from Katuna heading to Rubaya at Kakoma, lost control and knocked the deceased who was seated by the road side killing him instantly.
Maate said that police were alerted, scene visited by ASP Baguma Oc traffic and team, MV towed to Kabale police yard pending IOV inspection.
He asserted that the case of road fatal accident has been registered at Kabale central police station under reference number TAR 21/2023 as inquiries are ongoing.
