Police in Kabale District are investigating a fatal road crash that claimed the life of a 32-year-old man after a parked Fuso truck allegedly moved abruptly and knocked him dead.

The deceased has been identified as Tusiime Arnold, a resident of Kirijime Central Cell in Southern Division, Kabale Municipality. The vehicle involved in the incident is a Fuso Fighter registration number UBE 861C.

According to Kigezi Region Police spokesperson ASP Elly Maate, the incident happened on Saturday, at around 6:30APM. Maate says that the deceased had been seated near the parked vehicle together with his friend, identified as Tusiime Gerald, 34, who reportedly worked as a turn man on the same truck and is also a resident of the same area.

He noted that Tusiime allegedly entered the parked vehicle and started the engine in an attempt to pump pressure into the truck. However, the vehicle suddenly moved at high speed, and he reportedly lost control before knocking Arnold, who was seated nearby.
