One person has been confirmed dead and six others injured following a fatal crash that occurred on Sunday, May 25, 2025, at approximately 5:45 PM at Lwafumu Forest along the Bunjako–Buwama road in Mpigi District.

The crash involved a Toyota Drone, registration number UBM 672G, whose driver is currently on the run. Preliminary investigations indicate that the vehicle was being driven at high speed and was carrying passengers in an extremely unsafe manner.

The driver reportedly lost control, struck a pavement, and overturned. One passenger died instantly, while six others sustained injuries.

According to SP Michael Kananura, the Community Liaison Officer in the Directorate of Traffic and Road Safety, the vehicle had earlier been flagged by police at Lungala, Mpigi, alongside three others, UBG 649K, UBM 631E, and UAR 351Z for multiple traffic violations.
