Seven members of the same family died in a road traffic accident in the early hours of Saturday, 27 December 2025, at around 4:30 a.m., at Njagalakasayi along the Masaka–Mbarara Highway in Lwengo District.

The crash involved a Fuso Fighter truck (UBP 510V) and a Toyota Fielder (UBH 476W). Preliminary investigations indicate that the Toyota Fielder, traveling from Masaka, attempted to overtake a line of vehicles and collided head-on with the oncoming Fuso truck.
