For nearly a decade, Archcivil Contractors and Builders Ltd has steadily built a reputation as one of the emerging construction companies contributing to Uganda’s infrastructure development, particularly in the western region.
Established in 2017 and headquartered in Kabale, the company has grown from a local construction firm into a multi-disciplinary enterprise offering services in building construction, civil engineering, road works, water projects, renovation, consultancy and a wide range of technical installations.
Operating under the motto “Your Satisfaction is Our Pride,” Archcivil Contractors and Builders Ltd says its success is anchored on integrity, trust, compliance and responsiveness to clients.
The company was established after its founders identified a gap in the construction industry, where some contractors failed to meet required standards and client expectations. With a team of professionals in civil engineering, building engineering, architecture and other technical disciplines, Archcivil has since positioned itself as a contractor capable of handling both small- and large-scale projects.
Its services include architectural, mechanical, electrical and structural design; construction and renovation of buildings; construction of roads and bridges; water projects; electrical and plumbing installations; mechanical works; consultancy; project planning; cost estimation and scheduling.
The company also undertakes aluminium and metal fabrication, welding, carpentry and joinery, shuttering and scaffolding, among other construction-related activities.
According to the company profile, Archcivil Contractors and Builders Ltd currently provides employment to an average of 250 people across the country, including technical professionals, skilled workers and casual labourers.
The firm’s vision is to become one of the leading construction companies in East and Central Africa within the next decade by delivering projects based on trust, professionalism and quality.
Its mission is to provide quality and affordable construction services that contribute to social and economic development while creating employment opportunities and supporting national and local development priorities.
Growing Portfolio of Projects
Archcivil’s growing portfolio includes projects undertaken for government agencies, non-governmental organisations, embassies, multinational companies and private individuals.
Among its recent projects is the construction of a maternity ward at Kamwezi Health Centre IV in Rukiga District, a project valued at approximately Shs160 million. The project was completed following the handover of the site and completion of the works.
The company has also undertaken external works and construction of a proposed boundary wall at Our Lady of Good Health Rushoroza Hospital. The works have included drainage construction, stakeholder engagement, levelling and the construction of open channels.
Another major project is Phase One of the construction of the Golden Jubilee Boys’ Hostel at Makanga School of Comprehensive Nursing. The project, whose first phase is valued at Shs1.4 billion and is expected to cost approximately Shs4.2 billion upon completion, includes construction works on the ground and first floors.
These projects, the company says, demonstrate its ability to deliver construction works across different sectors while maintaining a focus on quality, value for money and timely completion.
Professional Team
The company is led by Executive Director Mucunguzi Hanantori, a professional in civil and building engineering.
With its continued investment in technical expertise and a growing portfolio of projects, Archcivil Contractors and Builders Ltd says it is committed to strengthening its contribution to Uganda’s construction industry.
As the company looks towards its next phase of growth, its long-term ambition remains clear: to expand its footprint beyond Uganda and become a leading construction firm in East and Central Africa.
For Archcivil, the foundation of that ambition remains its guiding promise: “Your Satisfaction is Our Pride.”
