KABALE – The Kabale Resident District Commissioner, Godfrey Nyakahuma, has urged the Public to report any individuals involved in undermining government programs for undisclosed motives.
Commissioner Nyakahuma made this appeal on Wednesday while addressing the Kabale district council at the district headquarters in Kabale municipality.
During his address, Commissioner Nyakahuma revealed that investigations have been initiated into the situation in Buhara sub-county. There are allegations of individuals being unjustly removed and replaced as eligible beneficiaries of the new Parish Development Model (PDM) program without clear justification. He urged the public to report anyone implicated in such actions, emphasizing that those found guilty would be brought to the courts of law to face appropriate charges.
Nyakahuma also touched upon the situation in Kanjobe parish in Ndorwa East, where PDM beneficiaries were reportedly asked to accept a reduced portion of the intended funds. He assured the audience that they are actively pursuing evidence in this matter as well.
He called upon councilors to closely monitor the program’s implementation in their respective sub-counties to ensure the success of the PDM initiative.
Nyakahuma stressed that individuals found involved in these activities would be held accountable through legal channels. He reiterated that the Parish Development Model (PDM) program is a government initiative aimed at fostering development at the parish level in Kabale district.
He underscored the government’s unwavering commitment to addressing potential corruption or misconduct within its programs and urged the public to cooperate by reporting any such activities.
