MBARARA: Police in Mbarara District have apprehended 57 suspects, along with exhibits of marijuana and other narcotics, in a crackdown on criminal activities.
The operation, conducted yesterday between 1:00 PM and 4:00 PM in areas including Biafura Cell (Mukikutu), Nyamityobora (Katanga), Nkokonjeru Cell, and Ruharo (Mbaguta Cell), aimed to tackle the menace of criminal elements terrorizing these communities.
Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi Region Police spokesperson, stated that the operation targeted notorious individuals known for selling and consuming drugs in the mentioned areas, who then spread into Mbarara city to perpetrate further crimes.
