KABALE – In Kabale District, a 44-year-old Julius Tabu has been apprehended by the police for allegedly engaging in sexual intercourse with a 4-year-old girl.
According to Obed Kwehangana (49), the area chairman of Rwampiri cell in Katuna town council, Kabale district, the incident occurred on December 7, 2023, at 12:00 PM.
Kwehangana reported to Katuna Police Station that the suspect lured the victim and her two friends to his place under the pretext of collecting passion fruits. Upon arrival, he sent the friends outside to gather fruits, keeping the victim in the house where he allegedly committed the offense.
Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police spokesperson, stated that the case was reported to Karuna Police station, and the scene of the crime was visited and documented.
Maate further mentioned that relevant statements from witnesses were collected, the victim was examined, and the suspect was arrested at Kabale Central Police Station.
