Maate stated that the deceased was last seen on Friday during the day, visibly intoxicated at a nearby bar. He was seen by his daughter, Phiona Akankwasa, who operates a bar in the same house where her father lived.
Kasheija’s lifeless body was discovered lying against his bed, with the door to his house left open. Police visited the scene, conducted a postmortem examination on-site, and later handed the body over to the relatives for burial.
Maate further disclosed that blood-stained clothes, believed to belong to the deceased, were recovered from a nearby bush. One suspect has been arrested to assist with investigations.
