RUKUNGIRI: Police in Rukungiri District have arrested a man in his 30s who was caught red-handed raping a goat in Nyarushanje Sub County.
The suspect, Esau Mugarura, a resident of Kyetobokire village, Bunono parish in Nyarushanje Sub County, was caught in the act on Sunday, July 7, 2024.
According to Livingston Mucunguzi, the LC1 chairperson for Kyetobokire village, the goat belongs to retired Reverend Wilson Twiine, a resident of the same area.
Mugarura was subsequently handed over to village defense personnel, who took him to the Rubabo police post at Nyarushanje Sub County headquarters.
Joshua Waswa, the Officer in Charge at Rubabo police post, confirmed the incident and revealed that the suspect is in their custody. Investigations into the matter are ongoing.
