RUBANDA – Police in Rubanda District are currently searching for Nyakubaho Brigadier, a male individual accused of fatally stoning Tindigwa Obedi, a 24-year-old boda boda rider and resident of Habutikyi cell in Bunyonyi ward, Rubanda District.
The tragic event unfolded on October 9, 2023, around 10:00 AM, at Hamuhambo Trading Center in Rubanda district.
A confrontation led to Obedi being struck in the head with a stone, resulting in severe head and facial injuries.
Elly Maate, the Police Spokesperson for the Kigezi Region, informed journalists today that Obedi was promptly taken to Kabale Referral Hospital and later referred to Bathel Surgical Center Kigongi for a CT scan.
Regrettably, Obedi succumbed to his injuries on Thursday, October 12, 2023.
Maate clarified that the police were alerted to the situation by Milton Tindyebwa, who found the deceased at his parents’ residence with multiple injuries to the head and face.
A comprehensive examination of the scene, along with a postmortem, has been conducted, and the body has been released to the family for funeral arrangements.
The police are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the suspect, Nyakubaho Brigadier, who is currently evading arrest.
