Police in Wandegeya have arrested two suspects in connection with a break-in and theft at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Makerere University, specifically at the Postmortem Department building.
The suspects have been identified as Ochieng David, a worker at the university farm and a student at the College of Veterinary Medicine, and Wandwali Colline.
According to police, officers responded to the scene on Monday and deployed a sniffer dog to aid investigations. The canine, Boela, picked up a scent at the scene and tracked it for approximately 900 metres to a nearby residential area.
The dog led officers to a house occupied by the two suspects. A search of the premises resulted in the recovery of several items believed to have been stolen. These include electrical wire cables and extensions, five central processing units (CPUs), a Dell desktop computer, two office chairs, a printer, six black Dell projectors, a cupboard, a hard disk, gloves marked for Makerere University, a curtain frame, a projector screen, and a laptop.
