Suspected Homosexual Arrested in Kanungu

KANUNGU: Police in Kanungu District have arrested a 23 year old man who allegedly had sexual intercourse with a 12 year old boy in Nyamirama Sub County.

According to Fred Kabagambe (53) the area chairperson Nyabushoro cell, Rushaka Parish, Nyamirama Sub County in Kanungu district, the incident occurred on Tuesday 23/07/2024, at around 05:00 Pm, at Tungwa grazing field, Rushaka Parish, Nyamirama Sub County in Kanungu district

Kabagambe says that on Tuesday at about 5:00 Pm while the victim was grazing cows at Tungwa in the government land  together with Kosi and Muteta (damp), they found the suspect hiding in the bush, the suspect rushed and grabbed the victim, undressed him and forcefully started having sexual intercourse through his anus.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi region Police spokesperson says that a case of aggravated Homosexuality/Defilement was registered at Nyamirama Police Station, the crime scene visited, statements obtained from eye witnesses and the suspect was arrested and detained.

Maate adds that inquiries are underway and that upon completion, the suspects will be arraigned before courts of law.
