A chilling murder has sent shockwaves through Napak Town Council after the body of an unidentified teenage girl was found beheaded along Kopopwa Road.
According to Michael Longoli, the Mt. Moroto Regional Police Spokesperson, the gruesome discovery was made on July 23, 2025, at an unspecified time. The victim, estimated to be around 17 years old, has not yet been identified.
“This is a deeply disturbing case. We are treating it as a murder, and a full investigation is underway to establish the identity of the victim and the circumstances surrounding her death,” said Longoli.
Police have cordoned off the crime scene, and forensic teams are collecting evidence as part of ongoing investigations. The brutal nature of the killing has sparked fear and anxiety among residents, who have raised concerns about rising insecurity in the area.
In response, police have urged the public to remain calm but vigilant.
“We advise everyone to be cautious, especially when moving through isolated areas,” Longoli said. “Report any suspicious individuals or activities immediately. The cooperation of the community is crucial in helping us identify and apprehend those responsible.”
Authorities are appealing for public assistance in identifying the deceased. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the nearest police station.
“We are working closely with local leaders and residents, and we will provide updates as the investigation progresses,” Longoli added.
Some community members have linked the murder to tensions surrounding recent election results, though police have not confirmed any political motive.
The investigation remains active.
