The Anti-Corruption Unit – State House Uganda has arraigned three suspects before the General Court Martial on charges of obtaining money by false pretences and scandalous conduct.
The accused are RO/10262 Maj Nicholas Ntakirwa, alias Gen James, a UPDF officer attached to the Directorate of Operations, Land Forces; Mohammed Ali, a director at Duck Hunter Security Company Limited; and Besigye Trevor, a businessman.
Prosecution alleges that in September 2025, Maj Ntakirwa, posing as Gen James and allegedly acting in collusion with Mohammed Ali and Besigye Trevor, obtained USD 2.4 million (approximately UGX 13 billion) from Gafar Ibrahim Mohammed Elsawi, an investor with MAPSCO General Trading LLC. According to the prosecution, on 22 September 2025, the accused, together with other suspects who are still at large, allegedly obtained approximately UGX 13 billion from the investor at the offices of Duck Hunter Security Company Limited in Muyenga, Makindye Division, Kampala. They are accused of falsely representing that they were selling and exporting 30 kilogrammes of gold to Dubai, United Arab Emirates, with intent to defraud the investor.
The prosecution further alleges that on 29 September 2025, the accused obtained an additional USD 120,000 (more than UGX 500 million) from the same investor, purportedly claiming that the money was intended for payment to the Commissioner General of the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA).
