Police in Wandegeya have arrested two suspects found wandering at night while armed with dangerous weapons during a routine patrol operation.
The suspects, identified as 18-year-old Omirambe Nizara and 23-year-old Ochom Daniel, are residents of Kawempe Division.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police Deputy Spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire, the arrests were made in the early hours of March 18, 2026, at around 12:23am.
Officers attached to Kikoni B Police Station were conducting a patrol near Nyumbani Hotel when they encountered a group of about six youths.
The group reportedly fled on sight of the police, but two suspects were apprehended. A search conducted on the suspects revealed that Omirambe was carrying a panga and a knife concealed on his person.
The duo is currently being held at Wandegeya Police Division as investigations continue. Police have since prepared a case file, which is pending submission to the Resident State Attorney for legal advice.
