A total of 240 out of 254 shortlisted candidates on Friday reported for the Uganda Police recruitment interviews held at Seseme Girls Secondary School in Kisoro Municipality. The exercise attracted 165 male and 75 female candidates.
The interviews involved a series of evaluations, including physical fitness tests, medical examinations, oral interviews, and aptitude assessments designed to gauge both the academic knowledge and physical preparedness of the applicants.
Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson, Elly Maate, confirmed that the recruitment process is progressing smoothly and peacefully. He urged successful candidates to remain committed and disciplined, warning that any misconduct could cost them the opportunity to serve.
Maate also offered encouragement to those who may not make it through the recruitment, advising them to explore alternative career paths that can still enhance their lives and communities.
“We urge all participants to stay physically fit and avoid engaging in criminal behavior,” Maate added, warning against crimes such as theft, murder, and sexual misconduct. “Such actions could result in sexually transmitted infections, unwanted pregnancies, or legal issues that could disqualify them before training even begins.”
