Kabale District Female PWDs Council representative, Eunice Ndyamuhaki, has been declared the winner of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) Party primaries for the People With Disabilities (PWDs) Member of Parliament seat representing Western Region.
According to official results released by the NRM Electoral Commission, Ndyamuhaki garnered 336 votes, defeating her closest rival Gabriel Katto, who secured 252 votes. The third candidate in the race, Naboth Rwakazaire, managed only six votes.
The election was presided over by Ambassador James Kinobe, who served as the returning officer. Ndyamuhaki’s victory was described as a surprise outcome, given the stiff competition she faced.

Following her win, several Kabale residents took to social media to congratulate her. Swizeen Ndyabanawe, the Kabale District Labour Officer, said Ndyamuhaki’s determination was evident from the very start.
Charlotte Kemigisha, another resident, praised her composure throughout the campaign.
Meanwhile, journalist Naboth Isaac Niwagaba remarked: “If I was President Museveni, I would immediately make her a minister. That lady has PWDs at heart and speaks about them with passion.”
Ndyamuhaki now advances as the NRM flagbearer for Western Region PWDs in the forthcoming parliamentary general elections.
