RUKIGA: The late Florence Ndyaba Kitalo, former head teacher of Kihanga Girls’ Primary School, was laid to rest on Wednesday.
She passed away at the age of 63 due to complications from diabetes and high blood pressure.
A funeral service was held at Kihanga Church of Uganda Archdeaconry in Rukiga District, where State Minister for Finance, Henry Musasizi, described her passing as a significant loss not only to her family but to the entire nation.
He commended her children for the love and care they showed their mother throughout her life.

He also announced plans for the construction of the Mparo-Kyokyezo-Karukara road, which will improve transport and trade between Rukiga and Rubanda districts.
Mrs. Ndyaba’s children—Miriam Ndyamuhaki, Swizeen Ndyabawe, and Monic Ndyamusima—spoke of their mother’s devotion to education and her joyful nature.
They expressed gratitude to Minister Musasizi for his support during her illness and after her passing.
They also pledged to honor her legacy by sustaining Rukiga Central Primary School, where she was the proprietor.
In his sermon, Rev. Mugabirwe Nathan urged the congregation to remain steadfast in their faith, emphasizing that acts of kindness and service would lead them to heaven.
He encouraged mourners to practice forgiveness and compassion while they are still alive.
Mrs. Ndyaba is survived by her husband, five children, and nine grandchildren.
