KABALE: National Resistance Movement (NRM) Party leaders in Kabale District have called for a thorough investigation into Party registrars to stem the tide of fraud and vote rigging ahead of the Primary elections.

During a party meeting convened on Saturday and chaired by Minister of State for Trade, Industry, and Cooperatives, David Bahati, at Kabale National Teachers College, leaders expressed grave concerns over the integrity of the registration process in the party’s yellow book. They pointed to past instances where fraudulent activities by registrars during Party elections resulted in members losing seats and defecting to the Opposition, ultimately leading to significant losses for the party in the 2021 general elections.

The leaders voiced their dissatisfaction with the party’s response to fraudulent registrars in the past and expressed apprehension about a recurrence of similar acts in the forthcoming party elections.
