Kabale District has received a new ambulance from the Ministry of Health Uganda to enhance emergency service delivery in Kabale Municipality Constituency.

The ambulance is part of a broader consignment of 23 ambulances and seven fire trucks donated by the Government of Japan under the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects (GGP). Other beneficiary areas include Buikwe, Masindi, Pallisa, Oyam, Apac, Bushenyi, Nebbi, Ibanda, and Hoima City.

The fleet was officially received on Tuesday at the ministry headquarters in Kampala by Health Minister Dr Jane Ruth Aceng Ocero. The handover was presided over by Japan’s Ambassador to Uganda, Takuya Sasayama.

Seven fire trucks from the donation were handed over to the Uganda Police Force to bolster fire emergency response. Inspector General of Police Abas Byakagaba said the trucks will be deployed in Tororo, Mpigi, Kiryandongo, Lira, Bundibugyo, Iganga, and Luwero, significantly strengthening the force’s Fire Prevention and Rescue Services.
