The Kabale District Woman Member of Parliament, Hon. Catheline Ndamira Atwakiire, has urged Christians to exercise responsibility and moderation during the festive season, reminding them that life continues beyond the celebrations.
She made the remarks on Sunday while addressing congregants at Christ the King Parish in Kabale Municipality during the 2025 Christmas Carols held at the parish hall. The event featured five choirs: St. Augustine Choir, St. Cecilia Choir, St. Emmanuel Choir, Sacred Heart Choir and the Christ the King Parish Choir.
Christmas carols, celebrated as joyful songs of praise and worship, help Christians prepare spiritually for the birth of Jesus Christ.
During her address, Hon. Atwakiire cautioned believers against excessive indulgence during the festive period, urging them to celebrate in ways that protect their health, finances, and spiritual well-being.
“While the festive season is a time of joy and celebration, Christians should remember that there is life after the festivities. Let us celebrate responsibly,” she remarked.
She also commended the choirs for using music as a tool to spread messages of hope, unity, and faith during the season.

Meanwhile, Dr. Nicholas Thadeus Kamara, the Kabale Municipality MP, represented by Cellina Kyomukama, the LC5 Woman Councilor Candidate for Central Division, highlighted the spiritual and health benefits of singing, quoting St. Augustine: “He who sings prays twice.”
He noted that singing can relieve stress and contribute to the prevention of non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, encouraging Christians to sing joyfully and wholeheartedly in praise of God.
The Parish Priest of Christ the King Catholic Parish, Rev. Fr. Fred Birungi, praised the choir members for their zeal, commitment, and dedication in using their musical talents to serve God.
