Police in Kabale District have confirmed that no injuries were recorded following a minor road accident involving a fuel tanker and a passenger bus at Kyonyo Trading Centre along the Kabale–Katuna highway.

The accident occurred on November 14, 2025, at about 4:00 a.m., involving a Yutong bus, registration number UBB 956S, belonging to Jaguar Bus Company, and a white fuel tanker, registration number RAF 976W/RL 4457.

According to police, the fuel tanker was travelling from Kigali through Uganda en route to Kenya, while the bus was heading from Kampala to Rwanda. Preliminary investigations indicate that the tanker driver, having just crossed into Uganda, mistakenly drove on the right-hand side of the road, contrary to Uganda’s left-hand traffic system, leading to a head-on collision.

Fortunately, all passengers and drivers escaped unhurt, and no fatalities or serious injuries were reported.
