Grief has engulfed residents of Nyarukungu Cell in Maliba Town Council, Kasese District, following the suspected suicide of a 30-year-old man.
The deceased identified as Nason Mbusa, was found hanging from a coffee tree near his father’s home.
Daniel Baluku Kisangani, the area Local Council I Chairperson, confirmed the incident describing it as suspicious, noting that the coffee tree from which Mbusa was found hanging was unusually short.
He suggested that the deceased could have staged the act before his body was discovered on Sunday morning. He called on police to conduct thorough investigations into the incident.

The body has since been taken by police for postmortem examination to establish the exact cause of death.
Police are yet to release an official statement on the matter.
