The newly elected Kabale District NRM Youth League Vice Chairperson, Trust Twesigomwe, has officially declared his intention to contest for the position of Secretary for Finance on the National Youth Council (NYC).
Twesigomwe, who also doubles as Kabale District Youth Council Secretary for Finance, is now among eight youth leaders from across the country who have expressed interest in the NRM flag, with the party primary election scheduled for September 30, 2025. The NRM primary winner will then compete in the NYC general election on October 4, 2025.
Speaking at a press conference in Kabale town on Sunday, Twesigomwe said his ambition to join the National Youth Council Executive is driven by a desire to push for increased funding for youth structures to strengthen leadership and service delivery.
He pledged to ensure that government funds allocated under youth development initiatives such as Emyooga, the Youth Livelihood Programme (YLP), and the Parish Development Model (PDM) reach their intended beneficiaries.
