The Chairperson of the Kisoro District United Boda Boda Operators, Robert Karangala, has asked boda boda riders to look beyond passenger transport and invest in income-generating activities to improve their livelihoods and reduce poverty.

Karangala made the call on Tuesday during a function at Nteko–Chahafi Stage in Chahafi Town Council, where members of the stage association distributed goats to fellow riders as part of a community economic empowerment initiative.

He said many boda boda operators depend solely on daily transport earnings, which are often unpredictable and insufficient to meet household needs. He encouraged riders to venture into projects such as goat rearing, piggery and poultry farming to create additional sources of income.

According to Karangala, engaging in such activities would enable riders to improve their family incomes, pay school fees for their children with ease and become financially stable.
