RUBANDA: State Minister of Finance (General Duties), Henry Musasizi, emphasized that the Government is focused on transformation, not just participation in the Parish Development Program (PDM).
Minister Musasizi, who also serves as the Rubanda East Legislator, said this on Saturday while addressing residents of Kyokyezo Parish in Nyamweru Subcounty, Rubanda District, where he monitored progress on the Kyokyezo – Butambi road construction.
The 2.7 km road connects Rubanda to Rukiga District via Mparo Town Council and is part of an ongoing 12.9 km road project valued at UGX 1.9 billion. The project also includes the Habikyezi-Keitankombe-Nyakahita-Mushunga Minizi-Rwenturwe-Kagorogoro-Hakisheyi road, with access routes to Keitankombe C.O.U, Nyakahita Catholic Church, and Hakishenyi Primary School, all in Nyamweru Subcounty.
Rubanda District Engineer John Habimana reported that the construction, which began late last year, was 55% complete and expected to finish before the end of September this year.

However, while addressing locals at Kyokyezo Trading Centre, Minister Musasizi stressed that road infrastructure development is insufficient if people do not use the roads to transport income-generating goods to markets. He announced plans to personally visit households that benefited from PDP funds to assess their economic transformation.
