RUBANDA: The construction of the Mirama-Kabale 132 KV transmission line is now 99% complete, according to Engineer Daniel Kisira, the head of project implementation at Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited (UETCL).

Eng. Kisira revealed this on Wednesday while Minister of State for Energy, Honorable Sidronius Okaasai Opolot, was inspecting the construction work at the Kabale substation, which is being carried out by Ceylex Engineering in Rubanda District. The transmission line is being implemented by CCC International Engineering Nigeria Limited.

Eng. Kisira noted that only one kilometer of the transmission line remains, representing just 1% of the project. He confirmed that the construction is expected to be completed by next week. The project, valued at 83 billion Uganda Shillings and financed by the Islamic Development Bank, is slated for commissioning on December 14, 2024.
