KANUNGU – Team Muhoozi Kainerugaba Movement in Kigezi Sub Region has today launched an inter-region activities scheduled for November 25th, 2023 in Kanungu District.
The launch took place on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023, at Farmers Lounge in Kajara Cell, Southern Ward, Kanungu Town Council, Kanungu District.
Notably, it was attended by MK representatives from Kigezi Sub region. The main event on the 25th of next month will unfold at Kanungu Playground in Kanungu District, featuring participants from six districts in Kigezi Sub region competing in cultural dance, sports for both males and females, and other activities.
The MK Movement team will also undertake a community service initiative, cleaning Kanungu Town Council and planting trees. The first Son, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, is expected to grace the occasion as the guest of honor.
Tumwesigye Ambrose Kibuuka, the Team MK Movement Kigezi Regional Chairperson, emphasized that their primary goal for the event is to promote the MK brand at the grassroots level, making him known as the potential next president.
Eng. Sam Arinaitwe Kajojo, Kanungu District Chairperson, expressed his welcoming stance toward the event, highlighting its significance in bringing forth and addressing the community’s challenges.
Kajojo declared his support for Muhoozi Kainerugaba, citing generational alignment, and urged the people of Kanungu and Kigezi to rally behind him.
Following the launch, each district was tasked to form an executive committee responsible for mobilizing support for Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba in Kigezi sub region. In Kabale District, Emmanuel Twinamatsiko commonly known as “Ndugu” was selected as the chairperson, with Memory Mukuka as the deputy chairperson. Paul Twinamatsiko was appointed as the general secretary, Moreen Namanya as treasurer, and Nick Kanyesigye as the publicity officer.
Other roles include Jacenta Kemigisha as the secretary for female affairs, Jonah Asiimwe as the head of vibe, Mouren Orishaba as the deputy head of vibe, Patrick Tushabomwe as chief advisor, Edmond Kagina as the coordinator, Patrick Mugabi as the deputy coordinator, and Henry Watagah as the mobilizer.
