KABALE – The Ndorwa East Legislator in Kabale District, Hon. Wilfred Niwagaba, has today called upon farmers in the Kigezi sub-region to adopt sustainable agricultural practices, particularly during the current rainy season to safeguard the land, livestock, and human lives from erosion.

Hon. Niwagaba conveyed this message today through Hon. Bridget Asinga, who serves both as the Kabale district Finance Minister and the Kyanamira sub-county Lc5 Women Councilor at the installation of Rev. Gad Musimenta Babwekyeka as the Parish Priest of Emmanuel Nyabushabe Church of Uganda. The installation ceremony was presided over by Ven. Emmanuel Namanya Bwangye, the Archdeacon of All Saints Church Archdeaconry in Kabale Municipality.

Emphasizing the importance of adopting eco-friendly farming methods, Hon. Niwagaba stressed the need for farmers to revert to traditional techniques such as terracing, contour plowing, and mulching. These practices, he noted, are conducive to environmental conservation.
