The National Unity Platform (NUP) and the People Front for Freedom (PFF) have officially launched a joint political mobilisation campaign aimed at rallying support for NUP presidential flag bearer, Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu, ahead of the 2026 general elections.
The mobilisation was unveiled during a joint press conference held at Verina Gardens in Kasese Town on Monday.
Addressing the media, Saulo Maate, the PFF Chairperson for Kasese District, reaffirmed his party’s support for Kyagulanyi and other NUP candidates in areas where PFF will not be fielding candidates. He said the decision was informed by the two parties shared political agenda and common challenges they attribute to the ruling government.

Brian Basisa, the NUP Chairperson for Kasese District, welcomed the collaboration, describing it as a step in the right direction for strengthening opposition unity. He called upon other opposition political parties to emulate the initiative in the interest of advancing democratic change in the country.
Basisa also urged political actors and supporters to conduct peaceful campaigns to preserve unity and maintain peace in Kasese District throughout the election period.
