RUKIGA: The Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs in the Office of the NRM National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye, has condemned the selfish politics of hatred and infighting among politicians that are frustrating ONC’s Wealth Creation Campaigns in Rukiga District.
She asserts that these behaviors hinder development and the implementation of government programs and warns that if not addressed wisely, they will continue to leave Ugandans undeveloped and struggling with poverty.
Namyalo made these remarks on Friday while officiating as the guest of honor at the distribution of a variety of self-help items to residents of Rukiga District at Kantare Playground in Kantare Village, Rutengye Parish, Kasyambya Sub County.
The items distributed to 700 organized groups included; hair dryers, sprayers, sewing machines, and bricklaying machines, among others. These tools are intended to empower residents by providing them with the means to start or enhance their small businesses, thereby boosting household incomes.
Her condemnation was sparked by the noticeable segregation in recognizing dignitaries at the function. She was annoyed to see several leaders acknowledging some dignitaries while ignoring Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe Tumuhairwe, the Deputy Managing Director of Finance and Corporate Strategy at the National Water and Sewerage Corporation, who was the chief funder of the event. Namyalo cautioned attendees against politicizing the function.
Namyalo also cautioned political leaders that the Office of the National Chairman is not involved in politics, revealing that she had received several phone calls discouraging her from visiting Rukiga District. She reminded those opposed to development that they might try to block progress, but they cannot stop it.
She conveyed that resources were provided directly from President Yoweri Museveni, who also serves as the NRM National Chairman, the first lady Maama Janet Museveni and well-wishers including Dr. Sylvia Alinaitwe as part of his ongoing initiative to eliminate poverty across Uganda.
