Residents of Rusheshe Parish in Buhunga Sub County, Rukungiri District have taken matters into their own hands to address longstanding transport challenges by launching communal work to rehabilitate the dilapidated Kasharura Bridge along Rusheshe Road.
The bridge, which connects Kyaruyeje and Rusheshe parishes, has for years posed serious difficulties for the movement of people and goods, according to Ivan Namanya, chairperson of the Rusheshe Boda Boda stage.
He said the poor state of the bridge has slowed economic activities and hampered access to schools and health facilities.
