A Competitive Position:

Currently, Speaker Among does not hold a significant leadership position within the NRM despite her role as Speaker of Parliament, the third-highest office in the country.

Her announcement is seen as an effort to solidify her transition from her former affiliation with the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) and fully integrate into the NRM’s leadership structure.
