KISORO: Private schools in Kisoro District have demonstrated remarkable success in the 2023 Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examinations.
The results, unveiled by the Minister of Education Janet Kataha Museveni at State House Nakasero yesterday, sparked jubilant celebrations among the private schools in Kisoro district, as they basked in their outstanding achievements.
Leading the pack is Kisoro Vision Secondary School where three candidates scored 8 in 8 aggregates. Out of 158 students who took the 2023 UCE Exams, 76 excelled in 1st grade, 57 performed admirably in 2nd grade, 21 in 3rd grade.
At Standard Secondary School, where the top candidate scored a perfect 8 in 8 aggregates. Among the 168 candidates who sat for the 2023 UCE Exams from this school, an impressive 60 secured 1st grades, 70 attained 2nd grades, and 68 passed with flying colors in 3rd grade.
Meanwhile, Bufumbira Adventist Vocational School (BAVOS) saw five candidates excel in 1st grade, eleven in 2nd grade, six in 3rd grade, and five in 4th grade out of a total of 27 candidates. At Chahi Seed Secondary School, a government-aided institution in Chahi Sub County, 13 students clinched 1st grade, 36 secured 2nd grade, 20 attained 3rd grade, and one achieved 4th grade. Similarly, at Kabindi Secondary School, 16 students passed in grade one, 46 in grade two, 35 in grade three, while 12 candidates excelled in 4th grade.
The school heads, including Uyisenga Eric from Bufumbira Adventist Vocational School, Kenneth Manirafasha from Standard Secondary School, and Dan Munyambabazi from Kisoro Vision Secondary School, attributed this resounding success to the collective efforts of dedicated teachers, diligent students, and the strong support of parents.
