RUBANDA – The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, the Rt Rev Gaddie Akanjuna has urged students to harness their determination and put in relentless effort to attain success in their educational journey.
Bishop Akanjuna’s powerful words resonated yesterday during the dedication service for senior four and six candidates at Muko High School, situated in the heart of Muko Sub County within Rubanda West County, Rubanda District.The occasion marked the final preparations before the crucial UCE and UACE examinations.
In his impassioned address, Bishop Akanjuna encouraged the learners to set their sights on acquiring valuable skills, emphasizing the invaluable nature of education as a profound investment. He underscored the idea that embracing hard work is the key to a brighter future.
He further emphasized the importance of steadfastly resisting any negative influences that might jeopardize their educational pursuits, reminding them that their dedication would be rewarded by the divine.
Bishop Akanjuna also shared the hopeful anticipation that the diocese holds for the school’s exceptional performance in the upcoming examinations.
He also launched the construction of a boys’ dormitory, which is poised to accommodate a significant number of students ranging from 300 to 600, as outlined by the school authorities.

As the guest of honor at the function, Hon. Prossy Akampulira Mbabazi Begumisa, the Member of Parliament for Rubanda district and also a Commissioner of Parliament urged students to dedicate themselves to their studies for a brighter future.
In a remarkable show of support for education, Hon. Prossy, along with her husband Mr. Mbabazi Apollo, generously donated library science books valued at over 800,000 Shillings to the school.
She passionately encouraged the candidates to focus on their studies, emphasizing the importance of prioritizing education.
Hon. Prossy expressed her gratitude to parents for their unwavering support in the face of various challenges.
She advised the students to cultivate open-mindedness and emphasized the significance of respecting and obeying their parents, leaders, and teachers.
In a noteworthy gesture, the commissioner also contributed 150 bags of cement valued at 5.7 million Shillings towards the construction of a boys’ dormitory at the school.
