Bishop Akanjuna Urge Boys to Prioritize Education

RUBANDA – The Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi, Rt. Rev. Gaddie Akanjuna, has implored boys to prioritize education despite the hardships they may encounter in order to become responsible citizens.

He emphasized that a strong education is essential for them to become responsible citizens and future husbands who can contribute meaningfully to the spiritual development of the Church, their communities, and the nation as a whole.

Bishop Akanjuna delivered this message yesterday during the dedication service for S4 and S6 students at Nyamweru Secondary School in Nyamweru Sub County, Rubanda District. He reminded the boys that, according to God’s creation, men are often considered the heads of their families. However, he cautioned that being the head of a family without shouldering responsibilities could be a daunting task.

He encouraged the young boys to persevere in their studies, emphasizing that their bright future was within their reach. Bishop Akanjuna cautioned them that marrying educated women without a solid education of their own might lead to a future of dependency, urging them to stay committed to their schooling.

In his sermon, Rev. Mwesigwa Oscar, the Diocesan Education Coordinator, emphasized that God is the source of promises and faithfulness. He advised students to entrust themselves to God for success, as God provides knowledge, understanding, and wisdom.

Rev. Mwesigwa also reminded learners that both educational and life success result from their hard work and dedication. He encouraged them to use their time wisely, emphasizing the importance of doing the right things at the right time.

Meanwhile, the Bishop of the Diocese of Kigezi presided over the dedication service at Hornby High Junior and Hornby High School Primary, located in the northern division of Kabale Municipality. Here, he urged students to set clear academic goals and make their educational achievements a top priority.

The Bishop stressed that education plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of young individuals and encouraged the learners to remain focused and determined in their pursuit of better grades, ensuring a brighter future ahead.
