OP-ED: The Former Rukiga County Member of Parliament Aspirant, Edmund Atusasire, commonly known as “Researcher” is among the 1,813 graduates who have earned Master’s degrees during Makerere University’s 75th graduation ceremony in Kampala.

Atusasire proudly received his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) on Wednesday, marking a significant academic achievement.

Coming from a humble background, he has become well-known for his generosity, frequently paying school fees for vulnerable individuals and supporting relatives in his village.

In 2014, Atusasire participated in the NRM primaries for the Rukiga County parliamentary seat but lost to Habert Kabafuzaki.

Undeterred, he now has his sights set on the position of NRM Chairperson for Rukiga District in the upcoming elections.

Atusasire’s academic achievements include an MBA and a Bachelor of Commerce from Makerere University, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Management from the Uganda Management Institute.

The 75th graduation ceremony at Makerere University celebrates the accomplishments of 13,658 graduates, including 143 PhDs, 1,813 Master’s degrees, 11,454 Bachelor’s degrees, and 243 postgraduate diplomas.

Notably, 491 graduates earned First Class degrees, underscoring the institution’s commitment to academic excellence.

This year’s ceremony highlights progress in gender representation, with women making up 53% of the graduates and 44% of the PhD recipients.
