Embrace Vocational studies- Director of Asiimwe preparatory School urges Community

KABALE-The communities in Uganda have been asked to embrace Skilling and technical education if they are to improve the education standards of future generations.

This was said by Ronald Asiimwe the Director of Asiimwe preparatory School while delivering scholastic materials to pupils of the same school and other income generating projects to the community members of Kitooma Parish in Rubaya sub-county Kabale district.

Among the scholastic materials which were given to Asiimwe preparatory School pupils include, Books, Pens, soap, Sanitary Pads to ladies, food among others while others received sewing machines for skill development and piglets as well to improve their household income.

Asiimwe said that the government should look forward to put in place the ways to improve education standards most especially the young generation in order to be self-employed and improve their standards of living as well.

He revealed that, this is one way of giving back to his community to benefit them by providing credited skills like Tailoring and Knitting, Basket Weaving among the youth through providing equipment for them to use and scholastic materials especially to ongoing school Children though he expressed the concern on the major problem of Transporting pupils to and from the school because majority of them comes from across lake Bunyonyi asking the government, individuals and groups to provide help efforts in that the project has grown big that now needs a lot of care.

However, Asiimwe also asked the government and outside countries to also support children who didn’t get a chance of continuing with studies through giving them enough equipment and other materials such that they are helped to get skills which can help them to be self-employed and improve on their economic standards of living.

Speaking with our reporter after delivering these materials Gervaix Muriel who was leading the sponsors from Switzerland explained that, it’s their prayer to render skills to the communities most especially to the young generation as long as they are ready only that rendered effort wasn’t enough promising to contact her friends outside Uganda about the same community which will help them to get more outside support hence the project development.

Asiimwe preparatory School is one of the projects under Ronald Asiimwe directorship with over 200 pupils including children with parents/guardians, Orphans and the needy who cannot afford any self-provision scholastic materials from nursery section to primary six. Among other projects include Asiimwe guest house which is meant to provide accommodation to whoever is to stay around Lake Bunyonyi.
